On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, 19 and 20 September 2026, we opened our archives to rediscover the Margat, a vessel that marked the history of Le Garrec Pêche et Services.
Built in 1970, this 54-metre vessel fished for saithe in the North Sea, north of the Shetland Islands. An activity carried out far from the coast, to the rhythm of the tides and the work of its crews.
Through this archival photograph, we wish to preserve the memory of the Margat and of those who sailed aboard her. Their history is part of our maritime heritage.
