Conegan reaches a new CSR milestone with SMETA Sedex

At Le Garrec Pêche et Services, the commitments made by our subsidiaries play an integral role in the Group’s dynamic and values. Today, Conegan—our subsidiary specializing in seafood product valorization—is reaching a new milestone in its corporate social responsibility journey.

Its site recently underwent a SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) assessment—an internationally recognized audit methodology used to evaluate companies’ social, environmental, and ethical practices.

A continuous improvement process

This assessment focuses in particular on several key issues: working conditions, health and safety, the environment, and business ethics.

For Conegan, this initiative reinforces commitments already embedded in its day-to-day operations: reducing its environmental impact, ensuring the well-being of its employees, upholding high standards for quality, traceability, and food safety, and contributing to the sustainable development of the local region.

The goal is also to have a tool for measuring existing practices, identifying areas for improvement, and continuing to improve them over time.

Commitments that contribute to the group’s momentum

This initiative led by Conegan illustrates the commitment of Le Garrec Pêche et Services and its subsidiaries to evolving their operations responsibly, balancing performance and the long-term viability of their business activities with consideration for social and environmental issues.

From fishing and seafood product processing to cold-chain logistics, this commitment translates into initiatives tailored to the specific realities and business activities of each of our companies.

Congratulations to the Conegan teams involved in this initiative and for the work accomplished.
