The future cold storage warehouse project Norfrigo 11 is featured in an article in the latest issue of Produits de la Mer magazine. This is an opportunity to look back at this structuring investment led by our subsidiary Norfrigo in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
A new chapter for Norfrigo
After several years of studies and procedures, the building permit for the future cold storage warehouse Norfrigo 11 has been obtained.
The new building will be located on Rue du Petit-Port, in Capécure. Construction is scheduled to begin in autumn 2026, with commissioning planned for 2028.
With a capacity of 30,000 pallets, Norfrigo 11 will renew and modernise our subsidiary’s infrastructure while increasing its capacity to meet customer expectations and the changing needs of the agri-food sector.
A project focused on energy performance
Norfrigo 11 was designed to combine logistics performance, innovation and control of energy consumption.
Enhanced insulation, the use of ammonia as a refrigerant gas with no greenhouse effect, reduced water consumption for cooling production, and a design adapted to the risk of marine flooding: these choices reflect the Group’s determination to have a high-performing and more resource-efficient facility.
Stronger synergies within the Group
This new investment should also make it possible to continue developing synergies between Norfrigo and Conegan.
The proximity of our two subsidiaries makes it possible to combine the Group’s expertise in cold storage, logistics and the value enhancement of food products.
Norfrigo 11 thus illustrates the Groupe Le Garrec’s commitment to securing its long-term presence in Capécure, modernising its facilities and continuing to invest in the service of its customers, its teams and the Boulogne area.
